David possesses more than twenty-five years of blue-chip
Canadian and U.S. immigration experience including stints in major
metropolitan centers in Toronto and Silicon Valley. Named one of Business Insider's top immigration attorneys helping startups land top talent from abroad, David’s practice is global. He has represented leading companies in many industries including health care, high-tech, bio/pharmaceutical, scientific instruments, graphic arts, gaming and special effects, consulting, and financial services. He prides himself on his long-term client relationships based on trust, excellent service, and a partnering approach.
David is a frequent commentator on U.S. immigration matters; he
has been running a long-standing webinar for corporate clients as
well as contributed to legislative initiatives by assisting SHRM and
AILA, and individually for corporate clients. He has testified multiple times at the Nebraska Judiciary Committee on various immigration issues including proposed restrictive immigration legislation and the impact of the Supreme Court’s ruling on DOMA in United States v. Windsor, 113 S. Ct. (2013). David was born in Canada and moved to the U.S. in late 2000, where he held a TN, H-1, and then Permanent Residence before becoming a U.S. Citizen in 2008. He’s experienced the immigration bureaucracy firsthand and lives to tell about it! David is an avid runner and loves nature and travel. He enjoys raising his three children Parker, Penelope, and Thatcher with his wife, Jenni. His son, Thatcher, was born with underlying developmental delays and requires full support; this has spurred David’s passion for creating more accessibility for kids with disabilities.
